on my needles

dark grey semi chunky cowl

I love the look of those tall cowls, so I decided to knit one for myself. I’ve made up my own pattern and like the way it’s turning out so far. It’s K2,P2 for 5 rows and then K for 5 rows. This is Charisma Loops and Threads, and I’m using size 13 needles from Felted for Ewe. I needed something to go with my red wool pea coat and my black boots….I think this cowl will go perfectly when it’s done.

Check out the vintage crochet magazines my mom gave me. They’ve been interesting to flip through.
I think I’m going to check out The Knitters Life List again. The first time I read this book it went way over my head. I’m ready to branch out and knit something a little more complicated for me. I was thinking a sweater for Samuel….I’m searching Ravelry for a pattern. Wish me luck!

  7. That cowl is going to be perfect with your pea coat.

If I may make a suggestion about the sweater pattern? Tin Can Knits came out with a whole collection of free basic (but still stylish) patterns and the Flax pattern might be a good basic sweater for your son. 1. Jen, thank you for the suggestion. I’m going to give the sweater a try. The other items are nice too. Maybe I’ll make one of my goals this year to be knitting through all eight patterns.
