on my needles

Can you believe I’m knitting something that isn’t pink!?
I purchased this yarn off etsy last year sometime for about $6.
It’s merino wool and the listing said it was a seconds, but I see nothing wrong with this yarn at all.

I’m still working on my shawl, but not much reading this last week. I wanted to knit another easy project. I’m sure you already figured it’s another cowl… I cast on with size 7’s and I’m not sure if I’ll ever go smaller than these. They feel so tiny and thin in my hands!
Also keeping this one simple with alternating knit and purl rows.

  1. Oh I like that yarn! What a great color. Can’t blame you for knitting another cowl – they are my most worn knitted item.

    1. They are so fun to knit and wear. This one will be light enough for me to wear this Spring.

  2. beautiful!!! and I’m shocked it’s not pink but it is in the same color family so I think you’re safe knitting with it. Seconds sometimes means that the dyer didn’t like it and maybe there’s nothing wrong at all.

    1. Ah, ok. I love knitting with it, and can’t wait to see it finished. I didn’t venture too far from the pink…baby steps.

  3. Garter stitch can be so soothing to knit with. I’ve been playing with different stitch patterns for a tiny shrug I’m knitting to go with my baby granddaughter’s Easter dress and am thinking garter stitch just might be the way to go. Your new yarn is such a pretty colorway. I recently noticed that many of my Ravelry projects are in either pink or purple! Happy knitting!
